Daith Piercing: The Ultimate Accessory for Fashion-Forward Individuals

Understanding Daith Piercing

A daith piercing is a piercing that goes through the squishy connective tissue behind the tragus, and below the forward helix. The top of the piercing sits behind the forward helix and below the rook, and the bottom sits at the entrance to the ear canal.

The daith is an incredibly popular piercing, as it fills the ear well and has so many options for jewelry designs! A slightly oversized ring is usually best for healing, and you can go for something with a clean, simple aesthetic, or something more decorative if you so desire!

Choosing the Right Jewelry

The best materials to use are implant grade steel, implant grade titanium, niobium, and 14k gold! Most decorative or intricate pieces you see in daith piercings are 14k gold or titanium.

We are seeing a lot of dainty, delicate choices and pieces with a lot of sparkle as popular choices this year!

Styling Tips

Some of our favorite pieces for casual wear are simple seam rings, an elegant 14k fixed bead or gem ring, and delicate 14k rings with small pave stones.

We love decorative clickers for both the bold options available, and ease of changing them! Anything with fun, colorful stones, texture, or sparkle is a great way to make a statement and attract attention to your daith piercing.

The Heartthrob and Hypnotic from Buddha are probably some of our best selling statement pieces!

Practical Considerations

If comfort is a concern of yours, definitely consider whether you like to wear ear buds or over the ear headphones, which ear you use to speak on the phone, which side you favor more for sleeping, if you have to wear a helmet to ride a motorcycle, how much time you’re willing to dedicate to jewelry maintenance, and if you will have to or want to change it on a regular basis.

As far as maintenance goes, just remember to keep the area clean! Once the piercing is healed, that area can build up a lot of skin oils and dead skin, so you can keep the jewelry clean and free of debris by using a soft bristle toothbrush and some gentle soap to clean the jewelry while wearing it.

Purchasing Daith Jewelry

Which retailers or designers do you recommend for purchasing Daith jewelry?

There are so many great retailers and designers to consider when selecting your daith jewelry! Divinity Metals, Buddha Jewelry, Pupil Hall, Anatometal, and BodyGems are just a few of the many designers we suggest for this style of jewelry, but there are many more!

There are a couple things you should be weary of when buying jewelry online. Some online stores may have fast shipping, but more often than not, unless you’re buying from a piercing studio, the jewelry you are getting may not come with any kind of guarantee or warranty against defects and breakage. Sizing may also not be correct, and oftentimes online body jewelry sales are final sale.

Customizing Your Daith Piercing

We always suggest working with your local reputable piercer that carries the designer you desire a custom piece from so they can be your liaison for communication. This way they can ensure correct sizing and that the piece will look exactly how you want it to.
